Glencoe – No. 4

Next on the countdown of our best UK landscape photography locations is Glencoe in the Scottish highlands. Made famous by many a movie you would be hard missed not to have seen the beauty of Glencoe. Dominated by the Three Sisters, the valley is also known for its picture-perfect waterfalls at high peaks. These include Buachaille Etive Mor and Bidean Nam Bian. Some of our favourite shots include the white cottages that dotted along the glens. They sit majestically in the foothills of the towering peaks that surround the valley.

Lake District – No. 3

The midway point of our best UK Landscape photography Locations brings us to the Lake District. This mountainous region is dotted with lakes of all sizes. Naturally, these offer incredible viewpoints over the lakes. Get up close to them and you’ll be rewarded with perfect reflections in the afternoon light. There will also be the odd jetty that makes the perfect composition for your sunrise images. If you decide that you want to go higher, the Lake District has some of the most stunning views in the UK.

Lake District

Jurassic Coast – No. 2

The penultimate location takes us back down south to Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. It was very close between the Jurassic Coast and the Lake district for our number two spot. But the Jurassic Coast won due to its uniqueness. Nowhere else in the UK will you find fossil lined beeches (Kimmeridge bay). There is also rugged and unique coastal rock formations like Durdle Door. If that’s not enough, there is also the magnificent Corfe Castle, shrouded in mist and mystery.

Durdle Door

Other than Iceland, there is no other location that packs everything a landscape photographer could ever want in such a small area. There are windswept beaches overlooked by the Cuillin Mountains. Perfect fishing villages. Magical waterfalls and rock pools at the Fairy Pools. All this before we even get to the UK’s two most dramatic views. The Quirang and the Old Man of Stor.
